Keith Saunders, Esquire, is the founder of FHAS, a leading provider of legal support, analysis, adjudication services, and medical claims’ review services in the nation. He has served as General Counsel to a Blue Cross Plan and various Managed Care Organizations. Attorney Saunders is also a former Air Force Judge Advocate having served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
James Bobeck, Esq.
Jim Bobeck, Esquire, is the President of FHAS. Focusing on people, processes, and technology-driven solutions, Jim leads the FHAS team as it creates customer-driven and cost-effective solutions for its clients. In an ever changing business landscape, Jim catalyzes new business development initiatives for FHAS in the commercial, healthcare, and government sectors.
Prior to working at FHAS, Jim worked as an attorney focusing in healthcare, administrative law, and civil litigation. He earned his BA from Villanova University and JD from Boston College Law School.
Janice Bohan, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CPMA
Vice President / COO
Janice Bohan is the Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at FHAS. Janice has over 15 years’ experience in medical claims review, and has successfully managed multiple federal and state contracts, while maintaining the highest quality and 100% timeliness of adjudications. Janice focuses on new business development, as well as the facilitation of efficient workflow processes and daily operations, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Executive Vice President / CFO
Paula Bergstrasser is the Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of FHAS. She is positioned to complement the President in any and all endeavors related to the functioning and growth of FHAS. Paula provides fair and competitive pricing to clients while maintaining the financial health of FHAS. Paula earned her Bachelor of Science in Managerial Accounting from the University of New Haven.
Chief Technology Officer
Andrew Witchger is the Chief Technology Officer at Federal Hearings and Appeals, Inc. (FHAS), the largest independent provider of medical appeals services nationwide. Andrew leads new initiatives to incorporate software solutions to the aging medical appeal systems. His current project, Cogno-Solve, aims to disrupt the way healthcare and insurance firms process claims by leveraging machine learning techniques. Prior to FHAS, Andrew was a research scientist focusing in cryogenics and particle physics.
Beth Maney, RN, CPC
Director of Quality & Professional Development
Beth Maney is the Director of Quality and Professional Development at FHAS. She leads FHAS’ Quality Assurance operations including investigations, risk assessments/management, and audits. Beth is responsible for driving the development of the company’s Quality Assurance strategies and related policies, which focus highly on FHAS’ commitment to customer satisfaction. In addition to overseeing the Quality Assurance effort of FHAS, Beth provides continuing education to our staff to keep them abreast of changes to regulatory policy and contract requirements. Beth also holds professional coder certification and serves as Treasurer of the Scranton Chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Prior to FHAS, Beth was employed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department of a local hospital.
